Moving abroad and looking to export your car from Dubai but don't know how?
We're here to help you out. Some people might think that the exporting process is complicated and hard, but it is actually easy. All you need to do is to follow our simple guide on how to export a car out of Dubai.
Paperwork
Valid passport
UAE Visa
If not a citizen of the destination country, provide Residency Visa in the destination country
Steps
Head to the nearest Road Transport Authority (RTA) office. These offices are located in: Umm Ramool, Al Qusais, Bur Dubai and Al Barsha
Remove the license plates –front and back– and carry them with you. You will get new license plates once you are done
Third step is to get an "Export Insurance Certificate". This certificate costs around AED 70 and is valid for 2 weeks. It is a must that you ship your car within these 2 weeks
Your next step will be the de-registration process, which will require you to have your Export Insurance Certificate along with your driving license, vehicle registration card and the car's number plates
After submitting the required documents, you will get the final document that allows you to export your car, namely the "Export Certificate". The cost of this document is AED 90
Take your Export Certificate to the next counter. You will then get new blue export license plates and you're ready to contact a car shipping company.
Make sure to fit your new blue license plates immediately after leaving RTA

NOTE 2: Any shipping company should inform you that your car's fuel tank will be drained and the battery disconnected for safety concerns
