Dirty headlights, bad smell, or the summer heat: the internet is full with simple solutions. We tested the best 7 life hacks for car owners.
Does holding the remote key to your head increase the range?

Rumors about this have spread across the internet like wildfire, with many offering the explanation, that the fluids in the brain serve as a conducting medium and extend the signals range.
Most experts disagree with this theory though, and suggest that the increased range correlates to the height at which the key is held. The higher, the better – just like an antenna.
Best ways to cool your car quickly

Summer is here, and if you’ve left your car in the sun, be prepared for a sweaty back. The best way to cool your car quickly are:
Open the window on the driver door, and open and fan the heat using the passenger side door
Open your cars window when you turn on the A/C, that way the A/C can blow out the hot air through the windows
When you exit your car, turn the steering wheel upside down. That way, when you’re back, the top half of the wheel will have been in the shade, and won’t be boiling hot.
Fix your windshield wipers

If your wipers aren’t cleaning properly, you don’t have to switch them right away. Simply wipe the blades with a cloth and some alcohol, until the blade is clean. Then spray it with some silicone grease, and it should be as good as new.
Coffee for your car

Was someone eating in your car and you can still smell it? Coffee helps! Simply leave a cup of coffee powder in your car overnight, and the coffee will neutralize the smell in your car.
Want your headlights to shine?

Tooth paste contains particles that help polish surfaces and remove dirt particles (not a surprise). This also works on plastic headlights. Simply cover the headlight in tooth paste, let it try, and then polish it off.
Use your glove-compartment as a mini bar.

In a lot of cars, the A/C also blows into the glove compartment, or the compartment between the front seats. Some compartments also have a small wheel to open the ventilation. Have a look, and use this to store chocolates or other items that would otherwise melt.
Coca Cola & Chrome.

If you’re looking to polish the chrome parts on your car, almost nothing is as affectives as scrubbing it with aluminum foil and cola. Mythbusters did a whole episode on it, and proved that this does a better job than the leading brand chrome cleaner.
