Welcome to our new series about budget restoration cars. Today, we'll start with this Nissan 300ZX!

Look at those pop-up head lights

When the 300ZX came out in 1983, it was the third generation of Nissan Z-cars since 1969. Praised by enthusiasts for their looks, reliability, performance, and affordability, the 300ZX is no exception.

This 300ZX in the Z31 edition from 1986 features the first mass produced V6 engine to be installed in a Japanese car. More importantly, it was the last Nissan Z-car to feature pop-up headlights and a T-bar roof.

The only thing better than a T-Bone steak is a T-Bar roof!

This car is therefore really something special, and judging from the pictures, the bodywork seems to be in a good condition. Priced at AED 12,000 (negotiable), it’s a cheap car to buy and turn into a restoration project. The interior will require some work, and an inspection will reveal the amount of service the engine and mechanical components will require, but that’s what Scout My Car is here for!

The interior needs some serious work
