NEW CAR REGISTRATION FEES IN EFFECT

The RTA has updated the list of fees for vehicle licensing and registration. Previously announced by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the RTA says that the revenue raised by some of the extra costs will go towards road safety initiatives.

What are the changes?

• The cost of registering and licensing a new vehicle in Dubai has been reduced to AED 400 (from AED 460)

• The cost for registering a second hand vehicle however will now cost AED 350 to change ownership, and AED 400 for vehicle licensing.

• Registration renewals have been increased from AED 300 to AED 350

• New inspection charge of AED 170 for any vehicle older than 3 years
